Josh said his first prayer completely by himself today.
"Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank thee for this day. Thank thee that we can have Family Home Evening read our scriptures. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."
It made our day.

Busy couple of weeks
The past couple of weeks have been pretty busy. On the 19th, we attended my cousin Thomas' Eagle Court of Honor. Josh is probably Thomas' biggest fan. He loves hanging out with Thomas and it looks like Josh is well on his way to becoming an Eagle Scout too.
Maggie loved being able to spend time with all her family and get to know Gigi, G.G. Pa, and B.A.C.
The next weekend Josh and I were able to attend our first Father's & Son's camp out with our Ward. Josh loved it! It was especially fun because a bunch of Josh's buddies from church were there too. Josh thought it was pretty cool that we got to sleep in a sleeping bag in our tent.
Last but not least, today was my last day of school. "School's out forever!"

Happy Easters
Happy Easters! See Nacho Libre. We decided to have the Easter Bunny come to our house Saturday morning and Josh was pretty excited to see so many eggs full of tasty treats. The Easter Bunny also left some new air planes and monster trucks for Josh. Josh hasn't been able to part with them all day. For Maggie's first Easter, the Easter Bunny brought her a fun car seat attachment and some Rice Cereal. Mmmmmmm.
Of course Easter is not about the Easter Bunny and presents; it is to celebrate the atonement and resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ. In our attempt to teach this important concept to Josh, Holly explained to him that Easter is when we celebrate Jesus' resurrection and when Jesus was resurrected He came back to life. Since we had already explained the Eater Bunny to him, Josh thought it made perfect sense that the Easter Bunny would be bringing Jesus with him when he came to deliver eggs. We had to tell Josh that no, the Easter Bunny wouldn't be bringing Jesus with him because Jesus is living with Heavenly Father. "Oh," Josh said, "they live up in the sky?" "Yes, I guess you could say they live in the sky," I told him. Josh looked at me and very excitedly exclaimed, "Just like the dragons and the birds!" You've got to love how kids see things.

Water Boy
Josh had his first real swim lesson this week. He was a little apprehensive at first, but he warmed right up and ended up having a great time. Here is a picture of Josh just before he got in the water. We'll try to get some action shots next time.
As evidence of how much Josh loved playing in the water, he decided to play a little bit in the sink this week too. As I was walking up the stairs the other day, I thought to myself, "It's a bit warm up here." So I looked at the thermostat and everything seemed normal. I then walked into our bedroom and thought, "It seems really muggy in here. I wonder if we left a humidifier on." Then I heard the sink running and thought "Oh, Josh must have turned the hot water on and left it running." I didn't think anything of it because I just figured the water was going straight down the drain. When I turned the corner into our bathroom I noticed that the entire floor was covered in about 1/2 inch of water and our counter top looked very much like Niagara Falls. I immediately called for Holly and the two of us ended up using almost every towel in our house to sop up all of the water. In what I am sure was a completely irrational cost-savings technique, the manufacturer of house decided to install sinks and tubs without overflow drains. Needless to say, it made for a long and soggy night.

March Madness
It has been a while since we last made a post. Here's the month in review via pictures:
Dan had his last Spring Break ever. We made our annual law-school-spring-break trip to Park City with our friends the Allens. On the way up we stopped in Paris (well, sort of, if Las Vegas' Paris counts). This picture was taken for the sole purpose of proving to our friends Brad and Cassi that we can have just as much fun during our last semester of Law School here as they can spending their last semester gallivanting all over Europe.
Once we made it to Park City we had a great time. Josh especially loved playing in the snow with his buddy Eric.
After playing in the snow all afternoon the two boys were pretty tuckered out.
We couldn't have a post without including a picture of Maggie. She celebrated her 3-month birthday in Park City. She is as cute as ever and, despite battling with RSV right now, is about as happy as a little girl can be.
While we were there, we also got to spend some time with all of our Utah-based family (sorry, we didn't take any pictures) and had the opportunity to attend the Draper Temple open house (again, sorry, no pictures). It is a beautiful building. After a fun-filled week we headed back home and stopped through Las Vegas yet again to visit my cousin Rebeca and her husband Matt both of whom Josh absolutely loved.
We were also able to see Niels and Susie and our some of our best friends from BYU: Eric and Jamie and Rob and Mercedi and their respective kids. Josh had a blast hiding in the cupboard with Eric and Jamie's daughter Teya. If the two of them were to get married, this would definitely have to be blown up and displayed at the reception. No pressure you two.
Now that we're back home we are just trying to get back in to the swing of things and get over some pretty nasty colds. It's nice to be back in the warm Phoenix weather.

Maggie's Blessing
